CASE STUDIES

Westfield Old Orchard

When the Westfield Corporation needed a turnkey solution for a major signage project at their Old Orchard Mall, the client team called South Water Signs. The need: three monument signs with electronic message centers and a 50-foot pylon sign with a 750 square-foot electronic message center, along with various wayfinding solutions throughout the mall’s more than 1.7 million square feet of retail space. We handled design and engineering; permit procurement and code variance representation; fabrication and installation with a start date in July and a no-fail deadline to have the signs up in time for Black Friday.

We met this demanding timeframe, moving quickly through the design engineering phase and successfully representing Westfield in a variance hearing to procure all permits necessary to complete the project. Our project management group worked closely with the client team in an implementation that included excavation work and installation of primary electrical lines to each sign location, and engineering a low-voltage hub to enable wireless communication to each message center from a central location.
